Modern punk has certainly seen a shift towards being less overtly political compared to its origins in the 1970s and 1980s. While there are still many punk bands and artists who address social and political issues in their music, there is also a significant portion of modern punk that focuses more on personal experiences and emotions. However, it is important to note that punk as a genre has always been diverse and multifaceted, with room for both political and non-political themes. **

Modern punk music sounds aggressive because it often reflects the frustration, anger, and disillusionment of the musicians and their audience. The fast-paced, high-energy instrumentation and raw, unpolished vocals contribute to the aggressive sound. Additionally, the lyrics of punk songs often address social and political issues, personal struggles, and a sense of rebellion, which adds to the overall aggressive tone of the music. The aggressive sound of modern punk music serves as a form of catharsis for both the musicians and the listeners, allowing them to express and release their pent-up emotions and frustrations. **

Young punks may have varying preferences when it comes to punk rock music. Some may prefer old school punk rock bands like The Ramones, The Clash, or Sex Pistols for their raw energy and rebellious spirit. Others may gravitate towards more modern bands that incorporate elements of punk with other genres, such as pop-punk or hardcore punk. Ultimately, it depends on the individual's taste and what resonates with them the most. **
